Lodge Status

Sunday was another beautiful day in Byron Bay, catching some waves before the work week began.  Everything seemed perfect that day, except the news reported a fatal shark attack 25km south, and a non-fatal attack in Byron Bay on the same day.  Both were surfers, and the media believes it was the same shark.  I was keeping my eyes open both days I surfed for anything suspicious since the water is so clear.  After hearing about the bad news, I did some research online about how to handle the presence of a shark in the water.  I hope I never encounter one.

Monday, Tess went to get some non-toxic paint, and other rations for a busy week.  I painted the kitchen counter frames before finishing the flooring underneath them, and throughout the kitchen.  Tess put clear on the extra kitchen counter and the shelf boards.

Today we took a morning stroll on the beach at Bruns prior to buying lumber at The Old Mill.  After arriving home, we had lunch, then proceeded to work on the lodge.  Tess sealed the bathroom tiles grout and painted a clear coat on the base boards I prepared with a corner radius and a light sanding.  We cleaned up the space, took a couple shots, and called it a night.

Tomorrow, we'll build the counter frame, cut the counter and install it prior to installing the baseboards.  We'll also start grouting the floor tiles so we can add the trim between the tile and the laminate.

The entire floor is in!

 Prepping the baseboards.
