Summertime Surf

It was a demanding week of work, aiming to get the floor in by tonight.  It nearly happened, and I'm happy with our progress.  We now just have the kitchen flooring to install.

The weather has been so nice, with cool temperatures this last week, so I did my normal outing to the farmers' market and picked up some produce and saw some friends.  I met a fellow named Max who was raving about the surf this week.  Coincidentally, my longboard was along for the ride, so I ventured out to Byron Bay to see for myself.  Sure enough, the swell was lined up in corduroy fashion, with a light offshore breeze and many surf seekers already in the water at Captain Cook Lookout, one up from Clark's Beach, and just before Watego's.  I took a photo of Watego since I didn't have my camera, only my longboard, and trunks for a day surfing warm crystal blue waves below the jagged rocky cliff bending around the bay.  The right point break was some of the most fun waves I've had in a long time, and everyone was courteous and happy, riding waves for many hundreds of meters.

After returning home, I tossed some quinoa and veggies together for Tess and I since it looked like she needed a break from working in the garden.  We took a nap and I put in a little time on the floor to allow us a good break for the weekend.

The stopping point for the weekend, just before the kitchen.
