10 Day Water Fast at True North Health Care in Santa Rosa

Hi friends and family.  Long story short, I got some test results stating I have Blasocystis Hominous, so I traveled in from Brisbane and met my Mom who was at True North for some rest and rejuvenation.  My Mom was here eating the healthy food, listening to lectures, and soaking up some good community time in good company.  I arrived after she'd been here for about a week, after staying a night at Dario's in San Diego, then trekking out to Deep Creek Hot Springs for a night of camping, and over to the coast and up to Big Sur.  I finally made it to Samantha's Tree House in Felton, just outside of Santa Cruz by around 11pm.  The next day I headed to True North and checked in for an unknown amount of time.  The doctor said 10-14 days would be a good fast for me and my condition.  I've done many 5 day fasts from childhood, and a 7.5 day at True North in 2000, so this seemed feasible.  The fast went well, with breaks in the day for vegan cooking classes on a SOS diet, free of salt, oil and sugar, as well as morning yoga and meditation classes.  I enjoyed meeting so many lovely people, all here for different reasons, yielding similar paths.  Today is the first day breaking the fast to juice.  I'll stay on juice as long as necessary since the body is still ridding itself of toxins, and I'm enjoying the natural vibrance of green juice, and warm veggie broth.  I know, veggie broth probably doesn't sound super delicious to you, but after 10 days of water, you'd think you've died and gone to heaven!

If you are wondering what an SOS vegan diet offers, check out Chef Ramses Bravo's new cook book. He is the resident chef that has been creating amazing dishes you'll love.  I'm out the door to attend one of his educational classes right now!
