Birds, Bats and Cats
As I write this, something outside just fell out of a tree and is making a lot of racket in the bushes just outside my window. Tessa and I went to the beach earlier tonight for a walk. As we traversed along a dark path with no moon in sight, I pointed out a dark line in the sand that could have been a brown snake, as she shrugged it off as a stick. Perhaps, after catching Bill, the 5 foot long Goanna last week in the chook house, and having to get him out of the pen has me on animal alert. Or maybe it is just the abundance of wildlife sounds that come and go all through the night. A few minutes ago I walked out to the shed project and heard a fluttering that didn't sound like a bird, but more like a small bat. Sure enough, a little bat must have swept in the only narrow window and decided to have a safe night inside. I shot a few photos of him, although the light was dark and I didn't have much to focus on. The day before, I saw a Rosetta Parrot munching on something in the lawn just outside the kitchen. Again, the camera was hardly ready and the Parrot took to flight. The day before that, Molly chased Tommy at least 15 feet up a tree. He knew he couldn't hold on long, and suddenly jumped from the tree to the roof of the shed. I went up to retrieve his panting balled up body stuck still from nearly breaking his neck on the jump. He was perched in a semi shady section of the gleaming corrugated roof, too hot to walk on barefoot, as I scurried over with melting toes.
Today I nearly finished encasing the metal truss beam with ply.

Zooming through the kitchen
About to get me!
Calling it a night after all the excitement.
Beautiful Rosetta Parrot flying through our garden.
Tommy takes it to the trees. He is looking at the roof in the distance and makes the jump!
