2014 ~ coming to a close
2014 was probably the biggest year for me with many events needed to move to Australia. It was an epic year, with many magical memories, and some challenges along the way as well. We imported my vintage VW Kombi full of possessions, got engaged, and married in the midst of renovating the main house to rent, and built out the shed castle, between a quick renovation in Oregon during my two month visit. We planted many gardens which fed us well with daily smoothies, and salads for lunch and dinner. Between our work flow, we enjoyed taking in sunsets at the beach, free movies from the library and online, as well as some excellent books from Gill and Phil. Our chickens have been a joy to watch as they roam the land freely, seeking out anything that suits their appetite. We are enjoying relaxing evenings sketching, painting and practicing guitar as well as relaxing in the jacuzzi under the stars. Bike rides from our house to Mount Jerusalem National Park are always a joy where the jungle takes over and you're surrounded by lush vegetation, and a blend of animal sounds, under a blue sky.
Being able to do some yoga outside on the back patio, and sit quietly in a chair, taking in this beautiful place has set the tone to have more of a peaceful existence out in nature. We hope you all will have much peace and prosperity in the new year! Happy New Year!
Beautiful blueberries just waiting to drop into a bowl of cereal or a smoothie!
We've been getting ample rainfall, creating rapids for a nice cool soak.
Some happy salamander enjoying these warm humid days by the creek.
Ahhhhh, clouds floating in a perfectly blue sky! This makes me happy!
Tess and I and the chickens on our way to play some music with our neighbors.
A look at the lush green garden from all the rain.
Gill and her sister, Jocelyn in the kitchen.
Matt and Joni visiting from Sydney for the holidays.
Tommy at 8 months, ready for his first Christmas.
House all cleaned to Spud's approval.
Our roof extension is finished, directing water away from the foun, dation of the shed castle.
We caught a Goanna in the chicken house today, so a ride into the national forest was in order to let the giant lizard go in his natural habitat. Please click the link below to see Bill in his new habitat.
