As the world turns

As we round the merry go round, I've decided to keep this log as a personal fire starter column. I met this interesting glass blower last weekend at Harold's by the name of Mike Crowley. He and his wife run theglasshive.com. Mike made a couple amazing flowers that blew out of rod color with frit on the bottom and stripes up the sides, optic molded and blown into a bowl with a light thread that could have doubled for an acorn squash. Ok, an art deco one since it was finely striped. After moving the heat into the lower shoulder of the piece, he spun the bowl into a flower with petals. the paddle gave a slight curve to a couple petals and the optic created variation in glass thickness around each petal with a swirl all around from the thread. The flower was most definitely from another place, like something out of Alice in Wonderland, or Wizard of Oz. The flower was incredibly magical during it's blooming into this rapidly spinning blur of expanding molten glass.

so why a fire starter....well, let's just say it's nice to cross them off one at a time. :) looking back makes me remember all that has happened recently. I find momentum a great asset to following thru with any project. And why not, maybe I'll breath easier. Something about blowing glass and a similar energy of being on fire, perhaps? Sounds masochistic. But don't we all desire some type of fortitude? Even the enlightened like to walk on burning embers. Does being bitch slapped feel good?

today i ended up cleaning the eurovan interior top to bottom and doing a complete shampoo to all the cloth interior and carpet. yes, the travel bug resides just outside my door. So back to fortitude...it's comes in many flavors.

i'm thinking of becoming a traveler monk by eurovan with bike on top. when eurovan putters out...get on bike...walk, crawl...j/k, dance

today marked the first yogo session in the church since returning. i finally built my workspace and cleared the place of junque as they call it at the antique mint, down the street. you can give an arm and a leg for some old dresser...that they don't make um like that no more. the world can be a funny place and it seems at times the more we stay on our own path, the better off we are...unless we're traveling. why is that? is creator mode got a handle on the gearshift? perhaps we can just say one word...logistics. rather walk than talk. if only email had hands and feet.
